5206Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH) is now seeking two pediatric dermatologists for 2013-2014. Candidates must be board certified or eligible in Dermatology and Pediatric Dermatology. Position Responsibilities: Clinical duties will include outpatient clinics at Phoenix Children’s Hospital main campus as well as satellite locations, inpatient consultations, shared call, and teaching to rotating pediatric and dermatology residents as well as medical students. Opportunities for designated laser and surgical time are available, working along side pediatric anesthesiologists. Teaching: The division of Dermatology at Phoenix Children’s Hospital maintains an American Board of Dermatology certified fellowship program in pediatric dermatology with two funded clinical fellowship positions per year. Staff physicians work individually with fellows in training on a daily basis. Residents in pediatrics and dermatology as well as medical students, rotate through the department on a monhtly basis. Research: Members of the research division hold academic appointments at the University of Arizona Medical School. Collaborative investigator led and pharmaceutical sponsored clinical research is encouraged and ongoing. The dermatology department has an active research department with sponsored projects. Division overview: Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s division of Dermatology has a very busy and rapidly growing service with four attending physicians and one nurse practitioner. The division currently staffs two of the four outpatient satellite facilities in the metropolitan area. Presently the division performs over three thousand outpatient consults per year, performs several hundred surgical and laser cases/year, and manages nearly two hundred inpatient consults per year. The department spearheads monthly interdisciplinary clinics including: • Vascular Anomalies • Congenital and Genetic Skin Disease • Epidermolysis Bullosa • Pigmented Lesion The breadth and variety of cases, both inpatient and outpatient, is comparable or superior to a large university or tertiary care center. Phoenix Children’s Hospital has been recognized as a top children’s hospital by US News and World Report, and is one of the 5 largest children’s hospitals in the United States. Our hospital offers residency training in pediatrics, now encompassing more than one hundred pediatric residents, as well as numerous pediatric subspecialty fellowship positions. The division of Dermatology at Phoenix Children’s Hosptial is the only pediatric dermatology group in the state of Arizona, serving patients throughout Arizona and neighboring states. Opportunities for affiliations with Mayo Clinic Scottsdale, University of Arizona, and Arizona State University exist. Our staff regularly participates in community outreach by providing care to homeless children and teens and operates a quarterly clinic for underprivileged children from Mexico in Nogales, Arizona.Salary is competitive for a pediatric dermatology position and PCH offers an excellent benefits package.
